Our Impact

We are dedicated to preserving the wild beauty of the islands while creating meaningful ways for the public to connect with and steward our shared natural heritage.

Science, Arts, and Awareness

Our impact reaches from the seafloor to the mainland. We provide critical support for the Kelp Forest Monitoring program—the longest study of its kind—while our Creative Currents programming uses the power of the arts to inspire a new wave of environmental awareness and education.

Expanding Public Access and Discovery

We believe that protection grows from personal connection. Through our strategic advocacy and fundraising, a new campground at Prisoners Harbor is set to open by the fall of 2026, creating new opportunities for the public to experience the islands firsthand and fall in love with them.

Restoring Historic Landscapes

Through high-impact philanthropy, we are breathing new life into the Park’s heritage. By securing a $500,000 matching grant and a generous award from the Santa Barbara Foundation, we are driving the essential restoration of Scorpion Ranch, preserving our shared history for future generations.

Defending Island Biosecurity

The Foundation serves as a solid line of defense for the Channel Islands National Park. From the mainland to the shore, we lead rigorous biosecurity initiatives to prevent invasive species from compromising these delicate ecosystems, ensuring the islands remain a pristine sanctuary for native wildlife.

Programs in Action

Bring the Islands Home

The Native Island Garden at the Channel Islands National Park Headquarters serves as a living showcase of the Park’s unique flora, offering visitors a serene space to learn about island ecology. To help bring these resilient species into your own landscape, the Channel Islands Park Foundation hosts native plant sales multiple times per year. These seasonal events provide a wonderful opportunity to support park conservation efforts while enhancing your garden with drought-tolerant plants that thrive in our local climate.

Shared Stewardship: Strengthening Our Park Partnerships

Channel Islands National Park is the common ground that unites us. We are building a collaborative network of organizations dedicated to the park’s enduring vitality. By aligning our resources and expertise around this shared mission, we transform individual efforts into a powerful, collective force for conservation and advocacy.

True stewardship thrives on connection. We actively seek partners who share our commitment to these islands, co-hosting initiatives that bridge organizational goals and deepen public engagement. Together, we are building a robust coalition of advocates to ensure that the beauty and history of the Channel Islands are protected and celebrated for generations to come.

Through a diverse range of experiences—including film screenings, guided island visits, seashore cruises, and vibrant community fairs—we bring the park's wonders directly to our community.
